My work explores the liminal space where the physical body meets the echoes of
memory. In the series Between Light and Silence, I use high-contrast monochrome
and staged tableaus to investigate the tension between presence and absence, the
seen and the unspoken.
The Architecture of Memory: Set within decaying or austere interiors, the
environment acts as a secondary character.
The Performative Body: I utilize the human form, often in states of vulnerability or
contortion, to represent internal struggles. The physical intensity speaks to a raw,
primal expression of being, caught in a beam of unforgiving light that cuts through the
surrounding stillness.
Symbolism and Shadow: By incorporating elements like masks, vintage cabinetry,
and classical signage, I bridge the gap between a surrealist dreamscape and a
historical reality. These objects serve as anchors in a world where silence is not just
a lack of sound, but a heavy, tangible presence.
Ultimately, this project is an invitation to dwell in the shadows. It is a study of the
moments when light reveals our deepest vulnerabilities, and silence becomes the
only language capable of holding them.
